Twitter and The Irony of Social Media

Amongst all this hype of Twitter and how tons of companies use it for customer service etc it never really occured to me that how Twitter isn’t doing anything noteworthy to interact with its customers and offer them support/help.

Though there is an account http://twitter.com/twitter, people using it never talk to Twitter users.

    Interesting point you make, Mayank.
But thing is, Twitter created the platform, and never preached that you use it for business or whatever. It is what people have figured out as a possible use. Maybe Twitter is not convinced about that use, yet? 🙂

True. Twitter never even went close of postulating various use cases but now that lots of big and small companies boast of driving sales and customer service up by using it why does Twitter turn a blind eye on it? 🙂

To be honest, I feel most Social Media types get Social only when they have to.

There is certainly a lack there, on twitter side. May be they were plain busy fixing that RoR message bus 🙂
